Micheal Thompson, 35, and Dayana Slade, 25, were found in Maine after the fatal shooting of Mike Jonas, 40, prosecutors said.
Two people were arraigned Friday in the fatal shooting last September of a Brockton man after spending months on the run, prosecutors said.
Micheal Thompson, 35, and Dayana Slade, 25, were arrested Feb. 2 in Lewiston, Maine, after spending months evading police since the fatal shooting of Mike Jonas, 40, the office of Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz said in a press release.
The two were charged in Brockton District Court, where Thompson faces one count of first degree murder. Both pleaded not guilty.
Thompson was ordered held without bail. Slade is charged with one count of accessory after the fact and was held with a $250,000 cash bail, Cruz’s office said.
On Sept. 23, 2025, State Police responded to a call regarding a fatal shooting in Finnegan Park, in Brockton. Police found two victims with gunshot wounds, said the DA.
One victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while Jonas, 40, was taken to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, Cruz’s office said.
Jonas had multiple gunshot and stab wounds at the time of his death, the DA said.
An initial investigation indicated that an “altercation” happened in the park directly before the shooting and Thompson was identified as the suspected shooter, prosecutors said. Surveillance video showed Thompson leaving in an SUV, accompanied by two women, include Slade, the DA said.
Attorneys for Thompson and Slade did not immediately respond to requests for comment Monday night.
