With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Brielle Mae-Rose Raposo, beloved daughter, sister, niece, and friend.
Born on October 31, 2008, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Brielle Mae-Rose was a beacon of light and joy to everyone fortunate enough to have known her. Her radiant spirit was infectious, spreading love and warmth to all those around her. As Mark Twain wisely said, “The secret of getting ahead is getting started,” and Brielle Mae-Rose, with her admirable courage and determination, was a living embodiment of these words.
Brielle Mae-Rose was a gifted and talented young woman with a myriad of interests and hobbies. She had an innate passion for sports and was an enthusiastic participant in baseball, T-ball, gymnastics, softball, and basketball. Brielle Mae-Rose’s artistic abilities were equally outstanding. Her captivating artwork still adorns the Fall River Narrows, a testament to her unique talent and creativity. Moreover, she was a versatile musician, skillfully playing various instruments such as the guitar, drums, and violin. Her memorable performance as the drummer in a band show at Durfee High School showcased her immense musical talents.
Brielle Mae-Rose was a witty and smart young lady with an exceptional sense of humor. Her quick wit and sassy remarks could light up the room, making everyone erupt into laughter. She was everyone’s big sister, always ready to stand up for anyone in need. Her loving and courageous spirit made her a popular figure, and she would frequently bump into acquaintances whenever she visited the mall with her mother. Her intelligence was well beyond her years, and she was always ready to engage in interesting conversations with both adults and children alike.
Brielle Mae-Rose is survived by her loving parents, Joshua Sousa and Heather Mae Sousa; her siblings, Shawn, Joshua Jr., Nevaeh, Gage, Kenton, Jameson, and Declyn; her niece, Mary’Lou; soon to be sweet nephew; and her goddaughter, Maelini.
She also leaves behind a vast family of friends who became family including Kaytlin and her children, Kyliee, Kamerin, Ava, Aaliyah, Josiah, A’Royal; Stephanie and her children, Myalin and Hayden; Brittney and her children, Ayden and Loghan; Audrey and her children, Aleasa, Vyla, Lucian, Lydia, Evelyn, and Madelina; and Ashley and her children, Kazin, Nevaeh, and Grace-Lynn.
Public visitation will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Southcoast Funeral Home from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will follow at the same venue at 2:00 PM, presided over by Chaplain and Life Celebrant Ines Bates.
Her Funeral will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025 at 9:00 AM inside of the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John of God Church, Somerset, celebrated by Father Jason Brilhante.
