“Bill Belichick is not going to get married; he is smarter than that.”
As Bill Belichick and the UNC Tar Heels continue to trudge through an up-and-down 2025 season, the drama off the field for the former Patriots coach doesn’t appear to be quieting down.
And once again, it’s Belichick and his relationship with his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, at the forefront of that discourse.
As Belichick and the UNC football club try to right the ship amid a rocky 2-2 start to the year, both Belichick and Hudson were featured on the cover of the latest Us Weekly, with Hudson the subject of a long profile.
Belichick’s long-term future with Hudson was among the topics broached in the cover story.
The New York Times reported in May that Hudson, 24, has “told at least one person that she and Mr. Belichick are engaged to be married.”
But, a source close to Belichick pushed back against that assertion in this latest story for Us Weekly — noting that it’s “highly unlikely” the 73-year-old coach proposed to Hudson.
“(Their relationship) is just something fun,” the source said.
Another source stressed that Belichick — who was married to Debby Clarke Belichick from 1977 to 2006 — doesn’t intend on going down the aisle a second time.
“Bill Belichick is not going to get married; he is smarter than that,” the source told Us. “[Bill’s relationship with Jordon] is not a big deal. Whatever makes him happy.”
Belichick and Hudson have drawn plenty of headlines over the past few months, especially after a now-viral interview on “CBS Sunday Morning” from April. During that interview between Belichick and Tony Dokoupil, Hudson — who sat to the side watching the interview — interjected on camera when Belichick was asked about how the pair met.
“We’re not talking about this,” she said sternly.
While Hudson has been spotted regularly on the sideline during UNC football games, her unwillingness to share more publicly about her relationship with Belichick has reportedly puzzled some close to the pair.
“An insider close to Hudson tells Us they don’t understand why the former cheerleader and Belichick aren’t more open about their relationship,” the profile noted. “[Jordon] is a totally normal person,” says the insider. “I’m not sure why they don’t want people talking about them. I guess she likes to stay mysterious.”
It doesn’t appear as though Hudson will be staying out of the spotlight any time soon, according to Us.
“The insider tells Us Hudson will be involved in the Hulu docuseries as she handles all of Belichick’s media and personal deals,” the profile noted. “He really looks to her for things like this because it goes against his nature to deal with the press,” explains the insider, adding that Hudson encourages him to pursue deals and appearances he normally wouldn’t, and that he trusts her instincts.
