Her daughter-in-law was charged with second degree murder for allegedly “inflicting blunt head trauma,” the AG said.

A woman was arrested in Maine in connection to the February murder of her mother-in-law in Exeter, New Hampshire, the state Attorney General announced.

Danielle Kelsen, 55, was charged with second degree murder, with Attorney General John Formella’s office alleging that she “recklessly caused the death of Janet Kelsen under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life by inflicting blunt head trauma.”

Previously, the AG said that Janet, 88, was found dead in her home on Front Street in Exeter on Feb. 9. Her death, due to blunt head trauma, was ruled a homicide

Danielle was also charged with wiretapping and eavesdropping. She allegedly used an electronic device “to intercept oral communications between herself and Janet Kelsen.”

The AG didn’t include any information on the communications or a motive for the murder.

Danielle was taken into custody in Southwest Harbor, Maine, with assistance from the Maine State Police, Formella’s office said Tuesday.

She is scheduled for an extradition hearing to be transferred to New Hampshire Dec. 10.
