Tishaun Miller, 44, was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murder of Douglas Rose in 2022, officials said.

An East Bridgewater man was found guilty of first degree murder in the 2022 fatal stabbing of a 41-year-old Falmouth man, officials announced Tuesday.

Tishaun Miller, 44, was sentenced by the Barnstable Superior Court to life in prison without parole for the murder of Douglas Rose, Cape & Islands District Attorney Robert J. Galibois said in a press release.

Miller also received concurrent sentences of 15 to 20 years for conspiracy to commit murder and eight to 10 years for breaking and entering. He will serve the sentences at Souza Baranowski Correctional Center, according to court records.

On Sept. 22, 2022, Kimberly McCarthy drove Miller, Vincent Purdie, and Charee Rainey to 250 Davisville Road in Falmouth to find Rose, prosecutors said.

McCarthy said in her testimony that Rose had stolen drugs from her the day before. McCarthy said the drugs were worth about $600 and belonged to Rainey, the Cape Cod Times reported.

Rainey broke into the house and chased Rose out the front door where Miller was waiting, then he and Rainey repeatedly stabbed Rose, according to the release.

McCarthy then drove Miller and Rainey from the scene, officials said.

Law enforcement found a knife near the scene with DNA that belonged to Miller and the victim. Officers also utilized cell site location data to place Miller’s and Rainey’s phones near the scene and McCarthy’s house, officials said.

“This was not a fight. This was not an act of self-defense. This was a hunt. This was a group of people who felt slighted and took it upon themselves to do everything in their power to smoke someone out and murder him in his front yard in front of other people,” Cape and Islands Assistant District Attorney Courtney Scalice said in court. “And especially with this defendant who had no connection at all to Mr. Rose. His involvement, I think, is more senseless than anyone else.”

In exchange for testifying, McCarthy will receive a reduced manslaughter charge and an eight-to-12-year sentence, the Cape Cod Times reported.

Rainey’s trial ended Aug. 11 in a mistrial due to a hung jury. He is expected to be retried for first-degree murder on March 30, 2026, according to the Cape Cod Times

Galibois commended the investigators and prosecutors for their dedication and thanked the jury for their “careful consideration of the evidence,” according to the release.
