Several of Campbell’s New England teammates cheered on the 21-year-old offensive lineman at TD Garden.

Will Campbell’s knee injury isn’t preventing him from having a good time.
The Patriots left tackle was seen during Friday’s Celtics game on the TD Garden jumbotron chugging a cup of beer without a shirt on in a suite. After finishing the brew, Campbell spiked the plastic cup and let out a big scream and encouraged the crowd to cheer for him.
Watch the hilariously rowdy moment:
Several of Campbell’s New England teammates were seen behind him on the big screen during a timeout in the second quarter, including quarterback Drake Maye and other offensive linemen. The group was filming the moment, cheering the rookie on and clapping for him as the TD Garden crowd made plenty of noise for the 21-year-old.
Campbell was at the very least standing fine on Friday, given he suffered a knee injury in Week 12 against the Bengals. He reportedly sprained his MCL, landing him on injured reserve. He has not played or practiced since the ailment occurred on Nov. 23.
At the time, head coach Mike Vrabel said Campbell’s injury was likely not season-ending.
Vrabel doubled down on that when he spoke about the player’s recovery earlier this month.
“I would hope not,” Vrabel said on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show” on Dec. 8 when asked if Campbell was out for the season. “So far, so good [on the recovery]. I haven’t seen him yet today.”
Prior to the injury, the Patriots’ No. 4 2025 draft selection started all 12 games for New England. Despite concerns about the length of his arms, Campbell has impressed in his debut season while protecting Maye’s blindside. He’s allowed just five sacks on the year; Campbell allowed two sacks against Browns star defensive end Myles Garrett in Week 8.
Garrett praised Campbell after the game, despite beating him in the trenches multiple times.
“He’s strong,” Garrett said of Campbell (via Patriots Wire’s Sophie Weller). “You want to set the tempo and the pace of the game with power. He was able to be pretty firm in his stance and keep me from knocking him back. Just trying to hit him with different looks, try to keep him off guard. … I had to try to take some things out of his book and work them into mine to have success.”
Campbell has missed two games so far out of the four total he is required to sit out while on IR. The earliest he could return to play would be in the regular season finale against the Dolphins.
