The driver of a green Subaru Legacy fled the scene after fatally injuring a cyclist in Fall River, the Bristol County District Attorney said.
A 34-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Fall River on Sunday, the local prosecutor said.
Fall River police received a call for a bicyclist who had been hit by a vehicle just after 5 p.m. on Dec. 21, the office of Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn said in a press release. Officers found Jordyn Lyttle, a Fall River resident, seriously injured near 214 Stafford Rd.
Lyttle was brought to a hospital but was pronounced dead a few hours later, Quinn’s office said.
Police believe Lyttle was cycling on Stafford Road when a green 2005 Subaru Legacy hit him from behind; the Subaru fled the scene, according to the DA.
“A second vehicle was also involved as Mr. Lyttle entered the opposite lane of travel after being struck by the Subaru. The second vehicle remained on scene,” Quinn’s office said.
Fall River police and members of the State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the crash, the DA said.
