They were recognized in the Good Housekeeping 2026 Travel Awards.

Those eyeing group travel in 2026 can book two outstanding getaways in New England, one on the beach and one in the mountains, according to Good Housekeeping.
The winners of the publication’s fourth annual Good Housekeeping 2026 Travel Awards were released on Tuesday, and two New England hotels were recognized for their excellence in accommodating groups: The Lodge at Spruce Peak in Stowe, Vermont and The Dunes on the Waterfront in Ogunquit, Maine.
“Whether it’s a quick getaway or a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, the best trips strike the perfect balance between feeling effortless and extraordinary,” wrote Good Housekeeping.
The Dunes on the Waterfront was named among the best beach villas for big groups.
“Scattered about 12 acres of farmland overlooking a tidal river that meets the ocean, the 21 newly renovated one- to three-bedroom cottages with green shutters, scalloped tables, farmhouse sinks, and other dreamy features are the perfect spot for friends’ trips,” wrote the publication.
The Ogunquit property reopened in June 2024 after a $10 million renovation and offers activities such as biking and kayaking. Ogunquit Beach was named among the 25 best beaches in the U.S. by Tripadvisor users.
The Lodge at Spruce Peak, Stowe’s only ski-in, ski-out resort, was noted for its New England charm in the category of best big group gathering spots.
The mountain getaway, located at the base of the state’s highest peak, stands out because “it combines the personal service of a B&B with the space needed to pull off a memorable multigenerational trip,” wrote Good Housekeeping.
The lodge offers a variety of accommodations with four bedrooms, including new treehouses. Travelers can also enjoy year-round outdoor activities such as skiing, mountain biking, and fly fishing. Stowe just ranked among the 10 best ski towns in America by USA Today readers.
