Boston’s newest Trader Joe’s location in West Roxbury is gearing up to open this Thursday, the store said.
The grocery store, located at 1999 Centre St., will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:55 a.m. “to welcome customers to their new neighborhood store,” the store said in a statement.
More than 80 employees were hired from surrounding areas and transferred from other Trader Joe’s stores to staff the new location, the store said.
“Through the company’s longstanding neighborhood shares program, the new West Roxbury Trader Joe’s will donate 100 percent of products that go unsold to a range of non-profit, community-based organizations, seven days a week,” the store said.
The Trader Joe’s will take the place of a Walgreens, which closed in November 2024, UniversalHub reported.
The West Roxbury site will mark the grocery store’s fourth Boston location, joining two in Bay Bay and one in Seaport.
