Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez didn’t let their divorce keep them from walking the red carpet together.

Despite divorcing earlier this year, Ben Affleck is still showing his support and appreciation for ex-wife Jennifer Lopez — both with his words and on the red carpet.
Affleck and Lopez posed for photos together at a red carpet screening of her upcoming film “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” which is produced by Affleck and Matt Damon’s company Artists Equity.
Based on the Tony Award-winning musical of the same name, “Kiss of the Spider Woman” begins in a prison, where Valentin (Diego Luna, “Andor”) bonds with his cellmate (Tonatiuh) through remembrances of his favorite musical and its magnetic star, Ingrid Luna (Lopez).
Ahead of the premiere, Affleck described Lopez’s performance in the film as “fabulous,” adding that her talents “shouldn’t be any surprise to anyone.”
“She worked enormously hard,” Affleck said of Lopez. “[In] this role, you get to see all of her many gifts.”
“She really does it all in this movie,” Affleck continued. “The acting and the singing and the dancing, and kind of embodies the whole spirit of it.”
In a separate interview with CBS News Sunday Morning, Lopez thanked Affleck for helping her land her dream role.
“I told him, ‘This is a role that I was born to play,’ and I wanted to do it, and he said, ‘Okay,’ and he helped make it happen,” Lopez said.
An ‘Unstoppable’ relationship
Lopez, 56, and Affleck, 53, first dated and got engaged in the early 2000s, spawning the nickname “Bennifer” and becoming tabloid a fixture. The couple ultimately postponed a planned wedding and announced their breakup in 2004.
The pair rekindled their romance in 2021, then got married — twice — in 2022. After rumors of marital troubles surfaced in early 2024, Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024. The Los Angeles Superior Court made their divorce official in 2025.
Nevertheless, the pair have continued to work together professionally, thanks to a number of film projects through Affleck and Damon’s Artists Equity.
The first, “Unstoppable,” is a sports biopic now streaming on Prime Video based on the true story of a Division I wrestling champion Anthony Robles (Jharrel Jerome, “Moonlight”), who was born with only one leg. Lopez plays Robles’ mother, who along with his wrestling coach (Michael Peña) inspires Robles to pursue his dreams.
The second, “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” opens in theaters nationwide October 10.
