If you spotted Gwyneth Paltrow in Rhode Island this weekend, she wasn’t there filming — she was visiting her “dream school.”

It was Family Weekend at Providence’s Brown University — Moses Martin ‘28, her son with Coldplay’s Chris Martin, is in his second year— and proud mom/Oscar winner/CEO of goop was the Family Weekend Keynote speaker.

The sold-out event Oct. 18 was not open to the public. Paltrow joined Brown University President Christina H. Paxson on stage at Brown’s Salomon Center for Teaching on Oct. 18, according to Brown’s social media.

Paltrow called Brown her “dream school,” adding it was a “pinch-me” moment to visit the Providence campus, per Brown’s Instagram

“The one requirement I have for myself is that I am always in a state of learning, always experimenting and hopefully raising some eyebrows along the way,” Paltrow said, per the post.

The Brown Daily Herald adds that Paltrow spoke to parents about the empty-nest feeling, something the actor has been candid about, including in her Instagram stories Q&A posts. She’s been vocal about using the term “free bird,” versus “empty nester.”  Moses’ birthday hit Paltrow especially hard, she posted.

Notably, during the question-and-answer portion of the event, she “hinted at future projects.”

“I might be in another Marvel movie,” Paltrow said, per the newspaper.

Could Iron Man’s loyal assistant Pepper Potts return soon, even though Iron Man died in “Avengers: Endgame?” Let the MCU fans debate…

Meanwhile, Paltrow, 53, and her lookalike daughter Apple Martin, 21, are making buzzy headlines as the new faces of GAP, via GapStudio’s fall 2025 campaign.

Since her breakout role in “Seven,” (1995) you might know Paltrow from “Shakespeare in Love,” “Emma,” “Sliding Doors,” “The Talented Mr. Ripley,” “The Royal Tenenbaums,” and any number of Marvel movies. You might know her from her wellness brand, goop (or from spoofing goop on SNL.)

She stars currently with Timothée Chalamet in “Marty Supreme.”

She’s also got strong Massachusetts ties: Paltrow cut her teeth acting at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in the Berkshires.

No word on where or if Paltrow, who is married to Brad Falchuk, dined out in Providence this weekend.

But last year, she embarked on a gourmet food tour around New England while dropping her kids off at college. In New Haven— stepson Brody Falchuk was starting at Yale — Paltrow hit up Connecticut’s pizza stalwart Sally’s Apizza. (“Surpasses the hype,” she’d posted on an Instagram story, screenshotted by Town & Country.)

At New Haven’s Fair Haven Oyster Company, she posted: “The fried dough & caviar was incredible. Had one of the best cheeseburgers of my life.”

In Providence, they hit up Al Forno, for “griddled pizzas, beet and avocado salad, linguine w/ clams, duck confit, baked pasta.”And lunched at Frank & Laurie’s, where Paltrow had “the best lunch of (her) life.”

“Some favorites: Deviled eggs, cucumber salad, tomato salad, egg sandwich, hash browns,” she wrote.

If Paltrow hit up your restaurant this weekend, let me know.
