Police in Weston are investigating after a golfer was shot with a pellet gun Thursday morning, WCVB reported.

Gary Louie, 77, was golfing at the Leo J. Martin Golf Course on Park Road in Weston when he was struck in the side with a pellet, WCVB reported. Though Louie was hit, the pellet did not penetrate his jacket, and he was uninjured.

“I was watching those guys tee off, and then I suddenly hear a ‘pop’ right here,” Louie told WCVB. “And then I looked down and there’s a little metal pellet. I said, ‘I got hit.’”

Tony Ferrara, a fellow golfer, called 911 after the two men heard a second pellet hit something metal. The first pellet nearly hit Louie’s head, Ferrara told the station.

“Right away, three cruisers were here, quick response and helicopters were here,” Ferrara said. “We tried to give them the best location we could, and we’re hoping for the best. Hopefully, that will stop them from taking shots like that again because it could hurt someone.”

Weston police have not made any arrests or identified a suspect as of Thursday night, but they notified Massachusetts State Police and MBTA Transit Police. However, they told WCVB that there is no danger to the public.

Weston police did not immediately return a request for comment Thursday night.
