A person died in Back Bay on New Year’s Eve after falling from the Mandarin Oriental on Boylston Street, police said.
Police responded around 9:41 p.m. Wednesday to 778 Boylston St. for a “report of an individual who jumped from a building,” a Boston police spokesperson said.
The person was “nonviable,” the spokesperson said.
A section of Boylston Street was shut down due to the incident, NBC Boston 10 reported, but police could not confirm how long traffic was affected.
The address is part of Mandarin Oriental, a luxury condo-hotel complex next to the Prudential Center.
