The incident occurred Tuesday night at an apartment complex on Norfolk Street.
A South Boston man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed another man to death inside a Cambridge apartment on Tuesday night.
Victor Rivas, 51, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury following the incident at a Norfolk Street apartment complex, the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office announced in a release. He’s set to be arraigned Friday. Officials haven’t publicly identified the victim.
Emergency personnel responded to a 911 call reporting the stabbing shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday. At the scene, they located the victim with serious injuries. The man later died at a local hospital.
“CPD and MIT Police Department Officers located Rivas nearby and placed him under arrest,” officials said. “The preliminary investigation suggests that there was an altercation inside the apartment between the defendant and the male victim, who are believed to be known to each other. Both parties sustained injuries during the altercation.”
The incident remains under investigation.
