Help Boston.com build a guide of Boston suburbs’ best budget-friendly staples.

Watch City may have plenty going for it — it’s accessible by commuter rail, it has two colleges, and it’s often named a top place to live by local publications — but the first thing that comes to mind, for Greater Boston foodies anyway, when it comes to Waltham is its restaurant scene.
One of the city’s main attractions is the multi-block stretch of Moody Street, also known as Waltham’s “Restaurant Row.” In fact, when Boston.com asked readers for Boston suburbs that deserve a spotlight, Waltham was a response we heard repeatedly.
The suburb boasts elevated Cuban food, Indian lunch buffets, cocktail bars, cash-only diners, takeout burritos, and occasion-dining Italian restaurants. You could take the 30-minute commuter rail into Cambridge or Boston to grab a bite, but you don’t need to.
At Boston.com, we are looking for specific places to eat in Waltham, the kind of spots that are friendly to our wallets and our bellies.
Our new project aims to help readers find high-quality, inexpensive meals in Boston’s suburbs, publishing new guides to one town or city over the course of a year.
We were successful in finding a wide range of meals under $20 in Somerville and Quincy — the latter guide is coming soon.
Before we put out our Waltham guide, we want to ask our readers for help first.
Can you still get a decent meal for under $20 in Waltham? It should be a meal that one would consider filling, either a single entree, a collection of appetizers or small plates that make a meal, or a combo or meal deal.
When sending in your recommendation, please include the restaurant, menu item, price, specify if it’s for lunch or dinner, and tell us why it’s a genuinely delicious budget meal. Fill out the form below, or email your response to [email protected]. Your answer may be featured in a future guide.
