A worker died Tuesday after falling from the third-floor roof of a house in Revere, officials said.

The man, whose identity has not been released, was repairing a house at 6 Payson St. when he fell, according to the office of Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden.

The man was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

No foul play is suspected, according to Hayden’s office.

“This appears to be a tragic workplace accident. We extend our deepest condolences to the victim’s family and friends and to all of those who witnessed the incident,” Hayden said in a statement.

Personnel from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, which investigates workplace accidents and deaths, were also on scene.

Revere Fire Chief James Cullen told The Boston Globe the house next door was impacted by a fire in June.

“Whatever they were fixing could have been a result of the fire next door,” Cullen told the Globe. “I don’t know if that was just routine repairs, or if it was related to that fire.”

The incident is under investigation by Revere police and State Police detectives, officials said.
