Thursday’s event will give Bostonians a chance to tell Wu directly what they think is and isn’t working about the city.

In what her office called a first for Boston, Mayor Michelle Wu will host an “office hours” event for residents to tell her what’s on their minds.
Wu and the city’s Community Engagement Cabinet will be held Thursday evening in the Bruce C. Bolling Building at 300 Washington St. in Roxbury, city officials said on the event website. For about two hours, Bostonians will be able to tell Wu directly what is and isn’t working about the city.
Department staff from more than a dozen city offices will also be on hand to answer questions in real time, according to the website. These represented departments include the city’s public schools and library, police and fire departments, and housing and elections offices, among others.
The event will also offer a host of city services, such as census and voting registration, applying for handicap parking, and printing birth, marriage, and death certificates, according to the city.
Wu first shared her vision for the event during her inaugural address earlier this year.
“Starting this year, together with members of my Cabinet and the Office of Neighborhood Services, we will hold Mayor’s Office Hours across Boston: An opportunity to connect directly with residents, hear what’s working and what’s not, and unstick any city service issues in real time,” Wu said in the address.
